This autumn smoothie is simple but bursting with flavor and nutrients!
Here is what you need -
Juice from 2 oranges
1/2 teaspoon flax seeds
1 teaspoon coconut flakes
1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds
Blend the banana, orange juice and flax seeds in a blender or Magic bullet. Top with coconut and pomegranate seeds. Enjoy!
It's the end of summer in Almaty and this means that fresh strawberries and raspberries are having their last hurrah at the Green Bazaar. We made our weekly trip yesterday and stocked up for this week! These red fruits were the inspiration for a 'smoothie bowl' - a smoothie using strawberries, raspberries, peaches, a banana, flax seeds and water…poured into a bowl! We topped both of our smoothie bowls with fresh raspberries and strawberries, then one with fresh mint and the other with coconut flakes and pumpkin seeds. You can eat this however you'd like but a spoon helps with the fresh fruit. Enjoy!
Apricots are in season, and here is a very simple way to use them!
2/3 cup kefir
1/3 cup water
3 or 4 ripe apricots
1-2 teaspoons honey
Dash of cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a blender or via Magic Bullet. Enjoy!
